Actually, it's pretty sad SSDs are so expensive, but their prices are lowering and might someday reach the ones of the HDD

You can put large photoscenery on hdd and smaller files on ssd and link them to X Plane.

If you're gonna use for flight sim, it won't make any advantage if you're changing HDD to another HDD. HDD to SSD will give you advantage, like I did.

I wouldn't recommand anything apart from SSD,SSHD will probably run slightly faster in comparison to normal HDD, however it has no match in terms of speed to any SSD (even TLC ones)
I wouldn't recommand Seagate HDD anyway given its writting method.

SSHD is not good. I have one and regret buying. Get SSD. M.2 NVME or 2.5inch drive is fine.

Stick with SSD unless storing large photoscenery you may be able get away with putting that to HD
